SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett

The vision for SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett is to create 335,000 sq m of state-of-the-art, sustainable logistics space, enabled by a Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) on site, enveloped in 600 acres of managed woodland, conservation grazing and public country park.

OVERVIEW 

  • An SRFI scheme of c. 1,000 acres (c. 60% is Country Park and c. 20% is terminal & buildings)
  • Planning permission in place and implemented for an SRFI and 335k sq m of distribution units
  • Consented scheme is in a screened landscaped setting - includes a new relief road for Park Street

Country Park 

  • 600 acres of woodland and managed countryside, including 200 ac.res of new species-rich mixed woodland planting and 400 acres. of conservation grazing.
  • New areas of woodland (4,288 standard trees, 132,057 whips) hedgerows and managed countryside e.g. conservation grazing, translocation of acid grass land and grass land management.
  • Enhancement of existing habitats and creation of new habitats e.g. to encourage nesting birds, bats, invertebrates including Great Crested Newts, enhancements to the Ver Valley corridor, and creation of new ponds and wetland environments.
  • Country Park Visitor Interpretation Centre, visitor car parking and picnic areas.
  • New footpaths, bridleways, nature trails and multiuse routes along with improvements to existing rights of way, totalling c.17km.
  • New and improved facilities for bird watching, equestrian activities, and fishing.
  • Provision of informal recreation facilities including outdoor gym, trim trail and play areas.
  • Dedicated cycle/footways will be provided along the length of the Park Street Bypass connecting with a signed route into the south east of St. Albans and London Colney to the east.
  • Improvements to existing and provision of new footpaths , bridleways and cycle routes (10.5 miles)
