Deconstruction Benefits

Deconstruction is a green building initiative that ‘unbuilds’ and disassembles the existing structure to recover selected materials. By recovering and reusing or recycling building materials, deconstruction is a more environmentally friendly approach compared to demolition. Deconstruction ensures that less waste is going to landfill, and that the construction process has a smaller carbon footprint through reuse of materials.

Sustainability Measures

Our approach will recycle 99% of materials from existing buildings. The development will also include:

Considerate Constructors

The deconstruction, building material recovery, and construction processes will be managed by a SEGRO-approved contractor.

This will mean these works will be carried out as per the Considerate Constructors Scheme. As part of this scheme, we will be ensuring that the demolition, material recovery, and construction activities are carried out with respect for the surrounding communities to minimise any potential disruption to our neighbours.
