Investing in the community

Slough Trading Estate is an integral part of the local community and has been for over 100 years, and SEGRO remains committed to contributing to Slough’s long-term economic vitality.

Throughout all phases of the redevelopment of 188-216 Bath Road, we are committed to the following:

Raising prospects for all

  • Deliver health and safety training for local people committed to developing a career in construction.
  • Provide work experience that will target post-16’s and young adults facing barriers to employment.
  • Support school visits for students to the redevelopment site.
  • Create a new digital-focussed programme for the local education sector.

Supporting the local economy

  • Promote job vacancies provided by the main contractor and subcontractors that would be available for local resident employment.
  • Work with the Local Supply Chain (LSC) to enable SMEs to compete for small work packages.
  • Work with the future occupiers to promote vacancies through local recruitment services, and encourage local employment.

Investing in the environment

  • Increasing biodiversity on the site by the introduction of trees, native planting and green roofs.
  • Providing bird and bat boxes within landscaping.
  • Providing seating spaces within the landscape to improve the public realm.
