Urban industrial & logistics

Supporting the growth of our cities

Growing cities increase the demand for goods and services and modern warehouse space in the right locations is often a crucial part of their delivery. We own one of the largest and most modern urban warehouse portfolios in Europe, which provides flexible space for a huge range of business activities.

Our spaces, our locations

Our urban industrial and logistics space is located on the edge of Europe’s largest cities, often close to main transportation routes into the city. These spaces are used by a wide variety of businesses, many of whom are providing value-added goods and services, who need rapid access to end customers and also skilled labour. Our urban customers come from over 35 different sectors, including: retail and wholesale, port and parcel delivery, creative industries, hospitality, life sciences, healthcare and pharmaceutical, support services, air-related travel, engineering and construction. Having space in the right location is critical to the success of these businesses and to meeting the economic and employment demands of the communities in which they are located.

Inner-city

Inner city industrial and logistics space is closer to the city centre and within, or near, the large residential and business populations that our customers need to serve. It often acts as the final point of distribution networks and is crucial for a successful and efficient ‘last-mile’ strategy, particularly for our customers who are competing on delivery speed and reliability, as well as for hyper-local industrial businesses.

Our inner-city portfolio is located in large cities like London and Paris, where poor road networks and congestion mean that travel times can be unpredictable and lengthy. It also supports customers who are focused on taking carbon out of their distribution networks by using electrical vehicles and other transportation methods such as cargo bikes. Land in these areas is in extremely short-supply, and this along with the proximity to local residents means that these buildings are carefully designed to maximise the use of space and be mindful of the impacts on the surrounding community. Our portfolio of inner-city space sets the standard for flexibility, location and enhanced sustainable technologies.
